Lists as LONGEST DURATION MUSIC ALBUM IN THE WORLD BY A SINGLE
VOCALIST & LARGEST NUMBER OF SANSKRIT SHLOKAS SUNG BY A SINGLE
VOCALIST FOR A SINGLE MUSIC ALBUM. This is an Audio Recording for a duration
of 28 hours 8 minutes and 38 seconds which contained 6,621 Sanskrit Shlokas of Sri
Gurucharitra.
About World Record Project of Chinmaya Rao
It has been the world’s lengthiest audio DVD with most number of Sanskrit recitals
recorded by a single voice.
In the recent past, an audio Recording, ‘ SriGurusamhita’ recorded by Honagodu’s
Chinmaya M. Rao which was included in the list of ‘United Kingdom’s Record holders
world record’ list has now joined the Nepal’s prestigious ‘Everest world record’.
This longest audio recording consisting of 6,621 Sanskrit Shlokas have been Sung,
recorded and mastered by Chinmaya M. Rao himself.
The audio DVD recording duration is for 28 hours, 8 minutes and 38 seconds.
It was released in Harihar at Narayanashrama, on 24th May by Shree Prabhudatt
Maharaj, who descends from ‘DattaParampara’.
Based on “Sri Gurusamhitaa” written by Sri VaasudevaanandaSaraswati, this holy
scripture’s AnushtupChandass has 52 chapters containing overall 6,621
Sanskrit Shlokas for which Chinmaya M.Rao has himself sung, recorded, edited and
mastered the whole DVD there by managing all aspects of audio recording alone at his
own small home studio at his village. Between 2010 to 2013, Chinmaya has dedicated
around 2,400 hours over the span of 3 years for this audio DVD.
Originally based in Marathi Language, this holy book called Sri Gurucharitra by the
poet Sri GangaadharaSaraswati, is popular till date throughout the state of
Maharashtra. Sri Gurucharitra takes the honor of being a sacred scripture after it has
been the wonder and ecstasy of Sri Dattaatreya, ShreepadaShreevallabha and Shree
NrusimhaSaraswathi. Having inspired by Datta, Sri VaasudevaanandaSaraswati has
translated this masterpiece into Sanskrit.
Produced by Shree S. Shreedhara Murthy, a renowned astrologist in Chitradurga, this
audio DVD is been presented to the world by Swaramedha International Music
Academy.

Swaramedha International Music Academy is a Music Academy founded by
Carnatic Classical Musician, Music Director & Playback Singer Chinmaya M.Rao in
- He learned Carnatic Classical Music for about twenty years under the guidance
of various Gurus. This perseverance built in him a strong willingness to pass on this
great musical tradition to next generation. Now his Music Academy is running
successfully in Bangalore in it’s various branches. He only directly teaching to more
than 300 students in different branches in different week days.
3-MUSIC DIRECTOR FOR MORE THAN 50 ALBUMS
As a Music Director Chinmaya Rao has rendered his guidance for more than 50 audio
albums released by reputed Audio Companies of India. Celebrities like SP
Balasubramanyam (S.P.B.), Udit Narayan, Unnikrishnan, Madhu Balakrishnan, Rajesh
Krishnan, Gurukiran, Vijayprakash, Puttur Narasimha Nayak, Rameshchandra, Ajay
Wariyar, M.D. Pallavi, Anuradha Sriram, Anuradha Paudwal, Anuradha Bhat and many
others have shared their voice under his Music Direction.
4-CHINMAYA RAO AS A MOVIE MUSIC DIRECTOR
Apart from showing dexterity as a composer, Chinmaya made an entry into film music
direction in 2013, by directing music for a film ‘Agamya’ in Kannada. Later he given
music for the movies “Maanjra”(2014), Akshara Belaku (2015), 666 (2016),
Mookavismitha (2017), Naavavaralla(2018).

As a Lyrics Writer Chinmaya Rao written songs for more than 25 devotional albums for
his Musical Albums.
6-CHINMAYA RAO AS A KANNADA POET AND WRITER
Chinmaya Rao’s first anthology of poems ‘Vishwachetana” was published in the year
2006 by Kannada Sahitya Parishath. Popular Kannada poet Prof. Nissar Ahamed
released this book at Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelana held at Shimoga.
Later his 7 books released by reputed Kannada Publications. His more than 200
articles published in top Kannada Daily Papers, journals and magazines.
7-CHINMAYA RAO AS A PLAYBACK SINGER FOR SMALL SCREEN
Popular Kannada director and cinematographer, Ashok Kashyap, gave an opportunity
to Chinmaya to sing a title song for his mega serial ‘Preetiyindha.’ The track was sung
by many popular artists, but Kashyap was so impressed that he retained Chinmaya’s
voice in his mega-serial. After that Chinmaya became a playback singer for the small
screen and given his vocal as background for so many Kannada Serials.
8-CHINMAYA RAO MUSICAL VIDEO ALBUM
Lahari recording company released an audio album for which Chinmaya has
composed music known as ‘Bhakti Vandana’ which was widely accepted by the
audience. As a result the company added visual elements to the later album and
released the same with a new name Dhashakshetra Vibhava.
9-CHINMAYA RAO MUSIC FOR TOP KANNADA POET/WRITER
Chinmaya has composed music for the renowned Kannada novelist Na. D’Souza’s
‘Bannada Chitte’- collection of poems for children. D’Souza has expressed his
satisfaction at the young artist.
10-CHINMAYA RAO AS A SOCIAL WORKER
Chinmaya started an NGO named KANNADA TIMES MEDIA WORLD (R.) in 2013
which was inaugurated through Kannada Wikipedia Workshop. This workshop was
related to uploading articles to the most prominent knowledge base in the
world, www.wikipedia.org was been conducted successfully. This NGO is working on
few important project plans with an intention to benefit all those who are prominently
involved in music, literature and other art related activities.
11-UPCOMING SINGER CHINMAYA RAO HONORED WITH HONORARY
DOCTORATE DEGREE IN PUNE
The Honorary Doctorate of Indian Virtual University for Peace and Education, was
awarded to Chinmaya M. Rao, for the overall achievement in the field of music.
Chinmaya Rao recently received several world records as the world’s first singer to
sing the largest number of hymns for a single music album.
Chinmaya Rao was praised and the event saw the dignitaries and the viewer’s
standing up for a Sanskrit Prayer on the Sun god, which he written, composed and
sang at this event on Saturday, March 17th, at Annabhau Sathe Sabhagruha
Auditorium in Pune.
In this event, Chairman of the Indian Virtual Academy for Peace and Education
Dr.Daniel Edwin, IVAP Director Dr. John Leslie, Secretary of Mount Abu Brahma
Kumaris Rajyogi B.K Murthunjuji, Director of SP Pune University Dr. V.K Wagh, Dean
of Defense Institute of Technology at Deemed University in Pune Dr. Sangeetha Kala
and Mr.Ashok Kumar of FCI Board of Government of India and other dignitaries were
present.
DR.CHINMAYA M. RAO DETAIL PROFILE
Dr.Chinmaya M.Rao (born May 22, 1982 in Honagodu, Sagar taluk, Shimoga district)
is a significant figure in the world of music. Though born in a family of agriculturists,
Rao showed love for music and literature throughout his childhood. He received formal
education in music from Shreemati of Sagar and completed his junior studies in
Carnatic vocal. When he joined BBM course in Shimoga, he became a disciple of
Vidwan H.S. Nagaraj and completed his senior studies in Carnatic vocal music. Soon
after, he was admitted into Mysore University to pursue his MBA. His yearning for
music made him a pupil of Vidwan Mysore Nandakumar and Vidwan Bangalore K.G.
Ramaswamy. To this day, he has continued his musical studies with Vidwan Hosahalli
Ananta and has completed Master’s Degree in Carnatic Classical Music ( M.MUSIC)
from Mysore University.
Music Director
Chinmaya was entered the audio world as a music director. He became a lyricist as
well as a music composer and singer for his first audio C.D. “An Ineffable Soul
OmkaraRoopini” in 2004. Lahari Recording Company came forth and introduced his
C.D. in the global market.
Till today as a Music director Chinmaya has rendered his guidance for more than 50
audio albums. Celebrities like SP Balasubramanyam (S.P.B.), Udit Narayan,
Unnikrishnan, Madhu Balakrishnan, Rajesh Krishnan, Gurukiran, Vijayprakash, Puttur
Narasimha Nayak, Rameshchandra, Ajay Wariyar, M.D. Pallavi, Anuradha Sriram,
Anuradha Paudwal, Anuradha Bhat and many others have shared their voice under his
music direction. Renowned playback singer Dr. S.P.B. has sung in six audio album for
his music composition. Chinmaya’s devotional albums like Bhakti Abhisheka,
SharanamAyappa, Sri Gururaya have become so popular that these songs are often
telecast in T.V. serials. Chinmaya owns a small recording studio in his residence at
Honagodu where he has recorded his composition “SowndaryaLahari” audio album
which registered good sales in the market. Chinmaya released his first light music
audio album Bhavapayana. Journalist and writer Deepak Sagar wrote lyrics for this
album, which has received immense appreciation from the audience. The same
combination brought out another album of folk songs BannadaTeru, which bagged
enormous appreciation from the public. Lahari recording company released an audio
album for which Chinmaya has composed music known as ‘Bhakti Vandana’ which
was widely accepted by the audience. As a result the company added visual elements
to the later album and released the same with a new name DhashakshetraVibhava.

World Record Holder
With an honor of being the longest duration audio DVD in the world,
ChinmayaM.Rao’s“Sri Gurusamhitaa” audio Mp3 DVD has included to the United
Kingdom’s ‘Record Holders Republic of World Records’ in June 2017.
The audio was released on May 24th at Narayanaashrama in Harihara and this single
DVD contains audio recording for a duration of 28 hours 8 minutes and 30 seconds,
making it the longest duration audio DVD in the World and also this is largest number
of Sanskrit shlokas sung by one single vocalsit.

Writer
As a person, Chinmaya is moody, always in his own world, and indulgent in his own
writings. His first anthology of poems ‘Vishwachetana” was published in the year 2006.
Popular Kannada poet Prof. Nissar Ahamed released the book at AkhilaBharatha
Kannada SahityaSammelana held at Shimoga. Another one of Chinmaya’s creations is
121 short sayings on Govu originally in Kannada by name. ‘MaathegaagiMaathugalu’
was translated into English in the name ‘World of Words for the mother of World’ by
Prof. Gowrishankar S.C. The book was released in 2007 at ‘Vishwa GowSammelana’
held at Ramachandrapur Mutt, Hosanagara. Since 2011, he is a regular writer to the
local and state level newspaper on different topics. His “TaaregalKurithuManasare’ and
108 short poems ‘Hanipravaaha’ was released by ‘Sadhana Prakashana’. In his
writings Chinmaya is not interested in any issues, he writes only to the subjects.
Social Work

Academy is running successfully in Bangalore in it’s various branches Chinmaya only
teaching Carnatic classical music lessons to more than 150 students.
First of all what is music? Why we should learn music? How learning music affects the
whole personality? How it gives peace of mind to students? How peace of mind of
individual person leads to universal peace? Chinmaya published a simple, beautiful
video in Youtube, based on all these elite thoughts, under the guidance of Mr. H N
Raghavendra Rao. “Music for Peace” – in these three words portrayed the motto of the
organization.
