We have noticed several films on the life of gangsters in pretty much all the Indian languages and notable amongst them were Ram Gopal Varma’s Company, Satya, Sarkaar to name a few. Coming to Kannada cinema, there have been films made on local dons and international goons as well. Inspired by local dons, director Prashanth Chandrashekar is ready with his new Kannada short film titled RUDRA. Prashanth has worked as an associate director for Prashant Neel in the KGF team. And this may be the main inspiration to make a rustic film.
The title Rudra is the name of a character played by one of the dons. Now Rudra is a secret that will be revealed only when the film is released. The film stars Naveendra, Shekar, Hemanth, Viraat, Bheeshma, Avin, Mallikarjunm, Ravi and in a very important surprising role Sandeep Malani playing a veteran local goon.
The film has cinematography by Kumar Gowda and music composed by Roopesh.

ಇಡೀ ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಯಾರಾಗೋ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂಡರ್ ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗ್ಲೂ ಡಿಮ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ. ರೌಡಿಸಂ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ‌ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು ಸತ್ರೂ, ಇಂತಾ ಸಬ್ಜೆಕ್ಟ್ ಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನೋಡಿದವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಈ ತರಹದ ಕತೆ ಆಗಲೇ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದೀವಲ್ಲಾ ಅನ್ನಿಸೋದು ಸಹಜ‌. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕನೇ ಕಾಂಪ್ರಮೈಸ್‌ ಆಗಿ ಇರೋದ್ರಲ್ಲೇ ಡಿಫರೆಂಟ್‌ ಆಗಿ ಏನಾದ್ರೂ ಕೊಡಿ ಅಂತ ಕೇಳಿ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳೋ ಹಾಗಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಕತೆ ಒಂದೇ ತರ ಇದ್ರೂ, ನಿರೂಪಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸತನ‌ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗೆದ್ದಂತೆ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರ “ರುದ್ರ”. ಒಬ್ಬ ಡಾನ್, ಅವನ “ಡೈ ಹಾರ್ಡ್” ಚೇಲಾಗಳಿಬ್ಬರು, ಒಬ್ಬ ರೆಬೆಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಭಂಟ, ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಟ್ರಬಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ನೆಂಟ.‌ ಜೈಲಿಂದ ಬೇಲ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಿರೋ ಅಗ್ರಹಾರದ ಹುಡುಗರ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಗ್ರ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸುವ ಕಿಲ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಂಟ್ರಾಕ್ಟ್, ರೆಬಲ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ರುದ್ರನಿಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಮೇಲೆ‌ ಏ”ನಾಗ”ಬಹುದು ಅಂತ ಹಳೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳ ಲಿಸ್ಟ್ ತೆಗೆದು ಊಹಿಸುವ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕನಿಗೆ ಸಿಗೋದು ಕಹಾನಿ ಮೇ ಟ್ವಿಸ್ಟ್.

ಅಭಿನಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಲಾವಿದರೂ ಪಾತ್ರೋಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಂದೀಪ್ ಮಲಾನಿಯವರ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಕಾಸ್ಟ್ಯೂಮ್, ಮೇಕಪ್ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ನವೀಂದ್ರ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾತ್ರದ ರೋಷಾವೇಶದ ಭಾವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ನೈಜ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆಡಹಿದ್ದಾರೆ.‌ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಭಾಷಣದಂತಿರದೆ ರೌಡಿಸಂ‌ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೂಷಣದಂತಿದೆ. ರೂಪೇಶ್ ರವರ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ ಸಂಗೀತವೇ ಈ‌ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರದ ಹೈಲೈಟ್. ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರೇ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಅದೃಶ್ಯ ನಾಯಕ ಅಂದರೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀರೋ “ಫೋಟೋದಲ್ಲೇನು ನೋಡ್ತೀರ. ಕ್ಲಾರಿಟಿ ಕಮ್ಮಿ. ಹೆಚ್ಡಿ ಕ್ವಾಲಿಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮೆದುರೇ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದೀನಿ ನೋಡಿ” ಅನ್ನೋ ದೃಶ್ಯವಿದೆ‌. ಇದನ್ನೇ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಹೇಳೋದಾದ್ರೆ, ಇಡೀ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಹುತೇಕ‌ ನೈಟ್‌ ಶೂಟ್ ಆಗಿರೋದ್ರಿಂದ ಲೈಟ್ ನ ಕೊರತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚೇ ಇದೆ. ಸಹಜತೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರೂ ಲೈಟಿಂಗ್ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
